Classic Car Museum will be open everyday from 11:30am – 8:30pm.

WAIKOLOA, HAWAII —- It’s one of mankind’s greatest innovations – the car. Waikoloa Beach Resort, in partnership with Hawaii Classic Cruiser Club, is proud to announce the opening of the Big Island’s first Classic Car Museum, Monday, February 15, 2010 at The Studio in Queens’ MarketPlace.

“Many of life’s greatest milestones are associated with the car – learning to drive, your first date, buying your first car – and classic cars capture the romanticism of these memories,” says Vice President of Resort Operations Scott Head.

“After the tremendous turnout for a Car Show we hosted at Queens’ MarketPlace last July, we started talking about ideas for a more permanent car attraction with Darryl Turner of Hawaii Classic Cruisers Club.”

Turner’s enthusiasm was evident early on during the discussions. “Just about everyone loves cars,” says Turner. “The support here at Waikoloa Beach Resort for this project has been terrific. It’s refreshing to see forward thinking about such a great opportunity.”

Visitors to the Classic Car Museum can see immaculately restored vintage automobiles, explore the evolution of the car and take a visual journey through themed displays. Future plans include celebrity car exhibits such as a custom built Rolls Royce once owned by martial arts legend Bruce Lee. Young and old will marvel at the magnificent workmanship and ingenuity of one of man’s greatest accomplishments.

The Classic Car Museum will be open everyday from 11:30am – 8:30pm. Admission is $4, children 12 and under are free and must be accompanied by a paid adult. Call (808) 886-8822 or visit www.queensmarketplace.net Since it opened in 2007, Queens’ MarketPlace in Waikoloa Beach Resort has earned a reputation among visitors and kama‘āina as “the gathering place of the Kohala Coast,” full of shopping opportunities, services and great food, along with entertainment and arts programs, movies under the stars and contemporary concerts in Waikoloa Bowl at Queens’ Gardens. For more information, visit www.queensmarketplace.net or call 886-8822.
