Asia Pacific Junior Cup Junior/Amateur Golf Tournament on the Big Island of Hawaii

Waikoloa, Hawaii, September 2014 – Get ready to tee up with some of the top junior golfers in the world on November 8, during the Asia Pacific Junior Cup Junior/Amateur Golf Tournament on the Big Island of Hawaii. Once again the challenging Kings’ Course at Waikoloa Beach Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii will play host to the junior/am as part of the 8th Annual Asia Pacific Junior Cup (APJC). The APJC, a Ryder Cup-style golf tournament, joins the top 16 junior golfers from Japan with the top 16 juniors from Hawaii/USA in a friendly 3-day competition.

The junior/am event opens the overall APJC with a shotgun start competition, followed immediately by the official Opening Ceremonies and an awards luncheon at the Kings’ Grille. Taking place November 9-11, the APJC tournament once again benefits the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association (HSJGA) and the Waikoloa Foundation, a Big Island non-profit organization. Hilton Grand Vacations® remains the title sponsor for this exciting international tournament, with each participating team comprised of 10 junior boys and 6 junior girls. Juniors will square off in Four-Ball, Singles and Foursome matches for the three-day tournament. The roster of APJC junior golfers from both Japan and Hawaii/USA will be announced in October.

Amateur players may sign up to play in the November 8th APJC Junior/Am by contacting the HSJGA at 808-532-0559. The $100 entry fee – of which $50 is tax deductible – includes all golf, the APJC Awards Ceremony and luncheon. Entries must be received by November 1. For more information about the Asia Pacific Junior Cup, please contact Karen Murray Boston, APJC Tournament Director at 480-495-5593.
