Waikoloa Beach Resort celebrates all things Hawaiian, and what could be more fun than the kick-off to the big, beautiful Island Beauty and “Hostess with the Mostest”, the Ms. Aloha Nui Gala , followed by the Poke Contest where contestants use a variety of seasonings, and will share their best poke dish and compete for cash & prizes. Then it’s the 19th Annual Clyde “Kindy” Sproat Falsetto & Storytelling Contest, where male performers throw their voices into the upper registers of the musical scale. Performers are also required to incorporate the art of Hawaiian Storytelling. End the weekend with a Hawaiian Elegance Fashion Show Brunch, featuring the new line of women’s contemporary Hawaiian fashion designed by Nalani Kanakaole-Zane. Come experience Hawaii’s rich cultural heritage.

Trick or Treat

Queens' MarketPlace
Have the keiki put on their best costumes and join the fun at Queens’ MarketPlace from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Stores will have candy, coloring books and more to distribute with a trick or treat bag compliments of Queens’ MarketPlace. Entertainment will be non-stop from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. In addition, there will be a costume contest for the keiki and the best dressed family. Also, a pumpkin carving contest between the Queens’ MarketPlace stores and restaurants with several other resort properties showing their carving skills.

Moku O Keawe International Festival

Waikoloa Bowl at Queens' Gardens
The Moku O Keawe International Festival is a 4-day celebration of hula and the arts of hula, expressed in many forms. The Festival includes a Hawaiian music Concert, Hula Competition and Hō‘ike (final night performance), Cultural Workshops, and a Hawai‘i Marketplace.
Hula Halau (troupes) from Hawaii, Japan and elsewhere compete in Kupuna (senior), Kahiko (ancient), Auana (modern) hula divisions. Workshops and cultural classes are held throughout the event at Waikoloa Bowl at Queens’ Gardens. (808) 345-9364; www.mokuokeawe.org
